Account and synchronization
Guest recovery keys, email sign-in, the web cabinet, and syncing rides and settings across devices.
You do not need an account to connect to a wheel, use the dashboard or record rides. An account gives you a personal web cabinet, synchronization and server-backed exploration progress. Creating an account and enabling synchronization are separate actions.
Create an account and keep access#
Open Account from the home screen menu. On Android it is under “Your data”. Select Create account on Android or Create guest account on iPhone. This requires an internet connection, but no email or password. A guest account may already exist after using an online feature such as publishing a dashboard preset.
Save your recovery key outside the phone, for example in a password manager. On Android, use the copy action under Keep your access; on iPhone, select Copy key. Treat it as an account secret and keep it out of shared screenshots. The app shows its saved copy; the server stores a hash and cannot issue the same key again.
On another phone, open Restore a guest account and enter the key. If you lose both the key and every active session, a guest account without email credentials cannot be recovered. Restoring access does not itself download rides: enable synchronization for that.
Add email or sign in#
Add email and password converts your current guest account into an email account. Its rides and progress remain, and the guest recovery key stops working. Choose a password of at least 12 characters. Android offers the form in the app; the iPhone button opens the web cabinet. Email verification is optional and does not limit cabinet features, but recovering a password requires access to that mailbox.
If you already have an email account, use Sign in with email and password on Android or Sign in with email on iPhone. Forgot password? opens the website's recovery page, which sends a one-time code to your email. Ordinary sign-in to another account does not merge the accounts.
To move a guest account's server data into an existing email account, select Sign in and merge and enter the main account's email and password. This is available on both platforms and in the guest account's website settings. It moves the guest's rides, acceleration measurements, exploration progress and other server data. The main account's settings take priority when syncing. Phone data stays, and your synchronization choice is preserved. The guest key stops working and the merge cannot be undone. If the app reports conflicting data or insufficient space, no merge took place and guest access remains.
Enable synchronization#
- Sign in to the same account on the phones you want to use.
- Enable the switch separately on each phone's Account screen: Ride sync on Android, Sync rides and settings on iPhone.
- Use Sync now when needed and wait for the exchange to finish. The screen shows status and errors; check your connection if it cannot complete.
Synchronization is off by default. It transfers completed rides and settings, even though the Android switch mentions only rides. Adding email, opening the cabinet or creating an account does not replace enabling this switch.
For an automatic upload, the wheel must have exceeded 5 km/h at least once and covered at least 300 metres according to its wheel speed. Short and stationary recordings remain local and are still included in exports and full archives. A current, unfinished ride is not streamed live to the cabinet.
Your account receives every saved telemetry sample, diagnostic fields and GPS when a route was recorded. Portable settings include language, appearance and dashboard presets, the alert library and behaviour, auto-volume, recording and privacy preferences, the garage and wheel-settings profile libraries. Some preferences belong to one platform only; synchronization does not make the Android and iPhone interfaces identical.
Passwords, tokens, system permissions and external-device bindings are excluded. Wheel profile libraries are saved data: synchronization does not send commands to the wheel or enable automatic application of a profile to hardware.
The web cabinet#
Select Open cabinet in the app to open a browser signed in to your current account, including a guest account. Email accounts can also sign in on the website using email and password.
The cabinet offers ride history, routes, full charts and ride comparisons. Select a segment to examine consumption, load and voltage sag. My wheels groups information by wheel. Account settings let you change your public name, add email, change your password and find your published presets. Your public name appears alongside public records you publish; it does not make synchronized rides public.
Deletion, retention and switching off#
Manual ride deletion synchronizes between the cabinet and devices with synchronization enabled for that account. In the cabinet, open Rides → Deleted: rides can be restored for 10 days. Their contents are then removed from the server; a technical deletion marker remains so a phone that was offline cannot upload the ride again.
Automatic phone retention removes only local history and keeps cabinet copies. Disabling synchronization stops the exchange and also leaves previously uploaded rides in place. None of these actions changes a separate backup file.
Signing out on the phone clears its local sign-in credentials and keeps local rides. It does not delete the account, server rides or sessions on other devices. Signing out in a browser ends that browser's login. After changing the password in the cabinet, other devices must sign in again using the new password. Save a way to recover access before signing out of a guest account.
Privacy and backups#
Synchronization stores full routes in your private account; trimming track endpoints for exports does not hide them from your own cabinet. No public ride link is created automatically. Publishing a dashboard preset is separate and does not publish rides or routes.
Synchronization does not replace a full backup. An archive includes local data, including short rides, and lives wherever you choose to save it. See the privacy policy for data transmission and deletion details.
