Chargers: SKAT and HW

Connect a Bluetooth charger, unlock its readings and find its charge settings.

LoEUC supports SKAT / CAN-Control and HW Smart Charger Bluetooth chargers on Android and iPhone. Select the charger in the nearby-device list as you would a wheel. It opens a charger dashboard with its own readings and settings. Support applies to these protocols; a charger having Bluetooth alone does not make it compatible.

Connect and read#

Switch the charger on, enable Bluetooth on the phone and open the scanner. If it is already connected to its manufacturer's app, disconnect it there first. Choose the charger, then wait for readings. If its advertised name is not recognised, send a diagnostic capture so support can be checked.

The dashboard can show output voltage, current and power, charger temperature, and delivered amp-hours and watt-hours. SKAT also reports target voltage; HW does not. Only readings available from the connected charger appear in the tile picker. These are the charger's measurements, not individual battery-cell readings.

HW password#

An HW charger may require its own password before it sends readings. LoEUC first tries the saved password, or an empty password for a new charger. It asks you to enter one only if the charger rejects that attempt. Enter the charger's password; an accepted password is remembered separately for this device. A rejection is shown explicitly. An unprotected charger needs no password prompt.

Charge settings#

Open settings while connected to the charger. On SKAT you can change second-stage voltage and current, maximum voltage and current, pre-charge voltage and current, and the two temperature-protection thresholds. This is available on both phone platforms.

SKAT does not send its current configuration back. Check its own screen before entering a value: LoEUC cannot prefill or confirm that configuration from readings. Values outside the supported limits are refused, and each write requires confirmation. Use the limits appropriate for your battery: an incorrect voltage can damage it.

HW support is for readings only; LoEUC does not change its charge settings. For dashboard layout and the readings available in each mode, see Dashboard.
