Explore places

Nearby places, your personal exploration map and routes.

Explore helps you choose a destination and keep a collection of visited places. Open it from the home menu. You can also swipe right from the first dashboard desktop; the green strip marks the exploration section.

Nearby places and your map#

The hub shows up to six unvisited places within ten kilometres. Distances are straight-line estimates; route distance appears after you build a route. Ratings, rating counts and review counts help you choose a place. Availability depends on the city's catalogue. You can choose a city manually when GPS is unavailable.

Rides reveal hexes on your personal map. Fog can be switched on or off; places and the route remain visible above it. Your coverage is private. A separate button imports exploration from saved rides without changing their original tracks.

The map shows speed, PWM and wheel voltage. Instruments show a dash when fresh telemetry is unavailable. Exploration itself also works without a connected wheel.

Routes#

The bicycle profile is selected by default. Choose car or walking manually. Built-in routing covers the prepared Moscow map; elsewhere, open the destination separately in Yandex Maps or Google Maps. The external app calculates its own route.

If an entrance is unverified, the route goes to the place's point and the card says so. Rebuild or end a route manually. There is no voice guidance or automatic rerouting. The saved route line remains available offline; detailed map coverage depends on available and cached tiles.

Visits and photographs#

Confirm a visit with “I'm here”, normally within 300 metres. A recent GPS fix with sufficient accuracy is required. Poor accuracy requires a private photograph. If GPS reports the wrong location despite claiming good accuracy, use “GPS is incorrect” and confirm with a photograph.

Visit photographs remain private. The app reduces their dimensions and removes metadata before uploading. Your collection groups visits by place and preserves repeat visits as personal history. Individual visits can be deleted. Deletion is synchronized to your other devices.

Account and offline use#

The place catalogue downloads after authentication and stays on the phone. Neither the catalogue nor POI photos ship in the installation package. The first download needs connectivity; saved places can then be used offline.

A visit is saved on your phone before synchronization. Progress stays local when connectivity is lost and upload is retried later. History shows delivery status. A failed photo does not block other visits, deletions or explored areas. Viewed place photographs are cached; the entire photo catalogue is not downloaded in advance.

Keep the recovery key from Account to restore progress on another phone. Progress created without an account is attached only when you confirm that action. Full ride GPS tracks are not uploaded: exploration synchronizes opened hexes, dates and visit confirmations.
