Backups

How a full archive differs from account synchronization and where to keep it.

Full backups and account synchronization serve different purposes. Synchronization exchanges rides and portable settings between your phone and personal cabinet. A full archive preserves local application data for recovery or moving to another phone.

Only real rides upload to the cabinet automatically: the wheel went faster than 5 km/h at least once and covered at least 300 metres by its own speed. Short and stationary recordings stay on the phone and are still included in the full archive and in exports.

Save and restore#

In builds with the new feature, open the backup screen:

  • Android: the main wheel list menu → Backup.
  • iPhone: Settings → Data → Backups.

Select Save to file on Android or Save backup file on iPhone. The app prepares a .loeucbak archive, then opens the system save dialog. Select a folder and save the file. Keeping the only copy on your old phone leaves it vulnerable to losing that phone; keep another copy on a cloud drive you choose or on your computer.

Disconnect your wheel before selecting Restore from file. The app checks the archive and shows its date, source and record counts before applying it. Confirm only after checking its contents. Settings present in the archive replace their current values; rides merge with your existing history. Cancelling before confirmation changes nothing.

A safety copy of settings is saved before applying the archive. Undo restore on Android or Return previous settings on iPhone returns preferences, the garage and plugins. Added rides remain in your history. You can also export and import the alert library separately on the same screen.

Older builds without this screen offer the existing ride export. It is not a backup of all application settings. Account synchronization also does not replace a full archive.

Full archive#

The archive contains rides with all recorded telemetry, GPS and every StR record, saved acceleration measurements, the garage and wheel settings, battery models, global preferences, alerts, dashboard presets and user plugins.

Account and cloud credentials, HW charger passwords, videos, diagnostic dumps, map caches and external-device bindings are excluded. Sign in to your account separately on a new phone.

Your own archive retains complete routes without trimming private endpoints. LoEUC does not encrypt the archive itself. Keep it somewhere you trust and consider its contents before sharing it with another person.

Storage#

The system save dialog lets you select phone storage, Google Drive, iCloud Drive or another installed provider. LoEUC does not store full archives on its server.

Choose a folder or cloud provider in the system dialog. You can also save the file to your phone first, then upload it to any storage service or copy it to a computer. You do not need to connect a cloud account in LoEUC. Backups are created when you choose to save them; creating later copies and managing old files is up to you.

Before restoring#

Check the archive contents, date and source first. Cancelling before confirmation leaves your data unchanged. Keep the old working copy until you have checked your rides, settings and wheels after moving. A platform change may change a wheel's address; the app matches its saved data when you connect, without sending settings to the wheel.

The selected cloud service determines file retention and protection. Deleting a synchronized ride in the cabinet and deleting an archive file are separate actions: a ride may remain in a copy you saved earlier.
